Whizz pleased with progress, despite defeat

Billy Whizz's Wonderboys remain in a healthy position in their first ever season in Division 4, even after a 2-1 defeat against leaders Huddle FC at Shitters Palace last night.

2 first half goals, including a 1st minute free kick, for the visitors left the Wonderboys with it all to do, but despite a neat finish from Phillipe Konz, were left empty handed, meaning they have 12 points from 6 games, and sit 6th in the 4.4 table.

"It's a really good start, far greater than any of us really expected" said manager Billy Whizz.

"For a club of our size to come and compete in Division 4 shows the attitude and determination of everyone here. Survival is very much our aim still - we're not being fooled by the high initial position, we would love it if we finished 12th"

New signings Robertson and Mikhail Kohklov have settled in well, with Kohklov scoring 4 goals already in his first season in England, while Luke Groves and Konz have adapted to Division 4, scoring 3 goals each.

"It's great to see Mikhail doing so well, he was a huge investment for us, so it's nice to see some early return on that. He is very much one for the future though, so it's difficult to say whether he's a good signing or a bad signing at the minute. I am convinced he can really help the club onto bigger things, though given time."

"We know that things will become a lot more difficult, and we need to keep scrapping for the odd point where we don't necessarily deserve it, and ensure that we do well in matches against teams in and around the relegation zone. Wednesday night against Skills City is going to be one of those matches, so we need to be focussed, and ensure we continue our impressive away form"
