Youngster joins Whizzers

Billy Whizz's Wonderboys today announced the signing of Luxembourg midfielder Robbert Braakman, for a fee of 2m.

Braakman previously played for an Italian side, but has never played a professional game.

"We're definitely looking to bring in promising young players" said manager Billy Whizz.

"We're hoping Robbert is one of many. We're giving him the chance to develop here, and he could become a first team player in the future, or be sold on for a profit"

"We took the decision to reduce our own youth facilities, which means the onus is really on us to buy youths ourselves from the transfer list. We've been thinking about a reserve team for some time now, and I think if we can get a couple more in then we should have enough players to be able to consistently fielding a side."
