More of the same, asks Billy

Billy Whizz's Wonderboys boss Billy Whizz says his teams defence provided the backbone for their 2-0 victory over Romans last night.

The result took the Whizzers out of the relegation zone, the significance of which has not passed by Whizz:

"I'm delighted we're out the bottom six. Although there's not necessarily a lot of pressure being in it at this stage of the season, it's not a nice feeling. I felt it was a big game, and one that we needed to be winning. It wasn't quite 'must win', but not too far off"

The visitors didn't have a shot on target in the entire game, and Whizz compliments his defence for holding firm, despite not seeing a lot of the ball.

"We had less possession than them, but they only had 4 shots. I think that shows how our concentration levels were right up there tonight, we gave them very little. In the first half, we gave them literally nothing, and thats an outstanding effort."

"Perhaps if we'd been a little more clinical in front of goal, it could have been an easier evening than it was, but at the end of the day we've come and done the business. I'm delighted with the team performance, and we need to continue this level of playing now. This can't be a one off, we've got some more key fixtures coming up, and we can't afford to become complacent because of this win"

"We'll have players coming back, and after the Cup, we should have a full team. Any points we miss out on in the next couple of weeks could come back and haunt us towards the end of the season, but I think the players are up to the challenge, and we should enjoy our football"

The Whizzers boss, who has been in charge since Season 19, reserved special praise for Man of The Match Mikhail Kohklov, who scored his 8th goal of the season in stoppage time:

"Mikhail has done tremendously well. To score a goal every other game is great, and even if he's not massively involved in every game, he knows where the net is. We knew he would have to do well if we were to survive this season, and he's done that so far. He could become a real figurehead for this club if he continues his hard work on and off the pitch"
