Whizzers prepare for top v bottom match up

Players urged to keep their heads in bid for seventh straight win

Billy Whizz's Wonderboys are set to play their first league game since climbing into first place in 5.10, as they go head to head against bottom of the table Baldies.

The Wonderboys beat nottingham forest fc 2-1 on Wednesday night, courtesy of goals from Cort and Groves, and will hope to improve on the 0-0 draw earlier in the season against Baldies, at Shitters Palace. Baldies keeper Harper won Man of the Match that day, but Whizz is hoping for a little more luck tonight:

"That was a weird game, we weren't at our best, and it seemed like one of those days. We were becoming more and more frustrated, so we switched off at the back, and they could easily have taken all three points. If we're focussed and patient tonight, then hopefully we can go one better"

The Wonderboys will welcome back Giovanni Inchingolo into their starting XI in the place of David Thorpe, while James Cort will remain in left wing after his superb performance against forest.

It can also be confirmed that the Whizzers are in negotiations with 2 clubs over the signing of a right midfielder. Maurice Meredith will retire at the end of the season, leaving the Wonderboys with a gap in their team, but are in advanced stages of agreeing a purchasing price. It is thought that the deal would happen at the end of the season, but nothing has been agreed yet.
