Wonderboys top: Whizz reaction

A nervy 2-1 win meant the Whizzers leapfrogged Skills into top place. Manager Billy Whizz gives his reaction

"It's a tremendous achievement" said Whizz, who has been managing the Wonderboys since their creation in Season 19. "We had 4 key games, and we've won them all; as a manager you can't ask for more than that from your players"

"When you consider also the player injuries we've had this season, I think it just highlights further the team determination - everybody is there to do a job, and the team is number one. It's an attitude that has perhaps been missing at key moments over the last couple of seasons, and I'm pleased it has returned"

"The pressure is now very much on the players to keep it up though. Our next game is no less important that the last one. Now we are top of the table, we have to start playing like league leaders, and ensuring that we stay there, it would be so easy to let our performances slip, and move back down to 3rd or 4th"

"While we are planning for next season, we need to keep focussed and we realise that this season is the most important thing right now. Fans can be assured that the team promotion effort is number one, and we would do nothing to jeopardise that. Players will have to be moved on at the end of the season, but certainly not while there are crucial points up for grabs - we have worked so hard to be in the position we're in, and now we're desperate to keep hold of top spot"
