Whizz wants Cup run to continue

Billy Whizz's Wonderboys are set to welcome back Florent Tessadri for their Round 5 Cup match against Spurs N Son tonight, knowing that a win would equal their best ever cup performance

The Wonderboys last progressed to Round 6 in Season 22, but have never progressed to Round 7, where the country's biggest clubs join the competition.

Having beaten Division 4 sides Harwood Villa and Earby All Stars, and on Thursday Division 5 side Man-Kuw to get to this stage, Whizz is eager to add Spurs to that list.

"We've had long discussions before the Cup started, and we decided that a cup run would most definitely be in the club's best interests." said the Wonderboys boss.

"We had a pretty tough start, but I think we dealt with the favourites tag extremely well last week, and we'll need to do the same tonight. Spurs N Sons have had a pretty decent season so far, and have 1 or 2 real dangermen that we need to be aware of, so it's by no means the easiest tie we could have had"

"They'll be confident coming here I'm sure, but hopefully that bit of extra class can tell. There's no guarantee in cup games, but we want to see this one out, and progress as far as we can. The financial benefits can be huge, but we need to put in the work on the pitch. Hopefully, we'll have good backing from the crowd, and pull off a performance to match last Thursday"

Defensive midfielder Tessadri is back in full training after an injury, although Lewis Moody is out, after picking up his third booking of the campaign on Sunday against Northampton Town. Robertson and Kohklov are still sidelined, but the latter could be fit enough to feature later on in the week.
