Richards and George depart

Billy Whizz has saluted one of his 'originals', after Mick Richards left Shitters Palace last night, following 6 seasons at the club.

Richards, 32, scored 62 goals in 138 appearances for the Whizzers, and raised a fee of £1.2m

"Mick is a great professional, and has done a really good job for us over the past few seasons. He has consistently hit the back of the net, and his partnership with Luke Groves has ensured that many pounds have been saved in the recruitment of new strikers."

"However, the club is going through a huge transitional period, and we want to promote a feeling of youth with the playing staff. Mick understands the situation, and we wish him all the best"

Paul George left on a free transfer, having been signed earlier this season for £100k. He made 6 appearances, scoring one goal and making one assist.
