Youth landmark a small milestone insists Whizz

Billy Whizz played down the matter of his team having 25 youth players in their current squad, as he claimed bigger and better things were to come.

Billy Whizz's Wonderboys acquired their 25th Under 21 player in the form of Ashan Ohda on Saturday, and manager Billy Whizz is keen to build on that number:

"25 is a decent number, and compared to what we've had previously, I think we've done alright in recent weeks. However, we've got to keep on going, and there's plenty of work to be done yet."

"You see some clubs around with about 50 youths, and thats ideally where we want to be. It may seem a long way off, and it is, but slowly but surely the number should increase"

A mass sale is predicted after the season update, and Whizz fuelled rumours, by failing to deny that many senior players could leave the club, even if relegation is avoided:

"We'll have to take a view, but in line with the club's long term strategy, I would say that many key players will go. The money will most definitely be re-invested, but having players aroud 30 years of age is no use for the long term."

"Make no mistake, the board and myself want success for the club, and we're aiming high, very high, but we'll have to slip back a bit to help ourselves. We've definitely been guilty of aiming for short term success in the past, and because we have achieved plenty in the short term, we've carried on. Things have to change, and things will change"

"There will be a lot of turnaround, but the club's success in future years is the absolute number one priority for us here, and fans may have to be patient, but we will be behind the scenes, and hopefully there will be much excitiement in higher leagues in seasons to come"
