Last game sees youthful XI

Whizz rests first teamers in final Season 24 game

Billy Whizz's Wonderboys have named a young team for their match against 8K ONLY tonight, with the vast majority of regulars spared from the fixture, with the kick off for Season 25 a week away.

Dwight Connolly, Lewis Moody and Sam Brooke all figure in defence, while Cort, Paschev, Hill, Avery and Hewitt all figure, meaning that the Wonderboys fans who travel to the match will see some developing squad members make rare appearances. It may be their last match in Whizzers colours, as several deparatures are expected in the coming days.

Senior figures at Shitters Palace today confirmed that it was very probable that Rob Liddell will remain as first choice defensive left midfielder, with Irishman Peter O'Reilly being sold to increase available funding to Billy Whizz, as he prepares a team capable of avoiding relegation in Division 4. Striker Mick Richards is likely to also be sold, unless a substantial offer for Thomas Avery is received. Michael Hill will also be placed on the transfer list, along with other young players for whom offers are lodged.

One potential target for Whizz appeared to be ruled out yesterday, as Useless Planks United stated that Alan Eastwood, the 26 year old right midfielder, was not for sale, following a U-turn on earlier plans. An offer of approximately 50m would probably be enough to convince the club to change their mind, but the Wonderboys are confident of finding cheaper options on the TL, particularly with one foreign place spare.
