Wonderboys 2 wins away

Wonderboys dominate but fail to secure victory as thrilling season nears end

Billy Whizz's Wonderboys had to settle for a point at Shitters Palace tonight against wybourn allstars, despite being the superior team on the night.

The Wonderboys had 4 times as many shots as the visitors, but their accuracy let them down, with only a third of the Whizzers shots testing oppositiong goalkeeper Osk. The point does edge them nearer to Division 4 though, with only 6 points needed from 4 games to ensure that the Wonderboys will be promoted.

"Following on from the game on Friday, it's a fairly pleasing result." said manager Billy Whizz, "Were it not for some terrible shooting, I think we would have won the game at a canter this evening, but thats football. We can keep our heads held high, because we were better in the vast majority of departments, and we just need to concentrate now for the final stretch"

Whizz has been planning carefully his recruitment plans for Season 25, with a striker and a right midfielder his top priorities. No deal has been agreed yet, and it is thought that no players will be bought before the Season Update without player sales. The club have received an official enquiry for striker Thomas Avery from an unnamed Division 6 club, but no firm bids have been placed for any player on the Wonderboys' books.
